SAFEGUARDING in the Catholic Church

Safeguarding is a duty that is rooted in the message of Jesus and in the mission of the Church.
The Catholic Church in Scotland aspires to the highest standards with regard to the care and protection of children and vulnerable adults, and actively promotes justice for, and provides assistance to, those who have been abused.
For further information go to

If you begin to feel unwell, even with mild symptoms of fever, tiredness, a dry cough or breathing difficulties the best move is to stay at home. This will mean that you are unable go to Church. Therefore, try to spend some time of your day in prayer so that
the Church continues to pray together, even when we are apart.
Say some of your favourite prayers; reflect quietly on God's presence with you and/or read some passages from the Bible.
Please remember to be a Good Samaritan and check on your neighbours and/or those who are most vulnerable as they may need help in the coming weeks.

1. There is no obligation to attend Mass at present. If you are shielding, at high risk or fearful or if you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 you should stay at home.

2. Face Coverings - it is now a criminal offence not to wear a face covering in church. Face coverings must cover the mouth and nose, please do not leave your nose uncovered. Visors must not be worn instead of a mask. Children under 5 and people with certain medical conditions are not required to wear a mask.

3. Hand sanitiser must be used on entering the church.

4. Social distancing must be observed.

5. The toilet will be closed. No toilet facilities are available.

Thank you

Face Masks

Broken For Us

The Matthean story of Gentiles coming from a far off region in the East to worship Jesus tells us that Jesus came not only for Jews; he came for Gentiles as well. Accordingly out faith in Jesus should be celebrated not only within Catholic churches and our culture, but is to be shared with those who belief in God and his Christ receives an expression that is different from ours. It is to be shared by those who do not share our culture. In the youth of this Year of Faith, we might remember that so many young people - members of our own family - share neither out faith in God nor our culture. We must reach out to them in this year of faith.
